Creative Shoe Storage
It's easy to shop online and find a wide range of shoe storage options, but sometimes
you need to be creative in order to save money or repurpose items in your home
you don't want to get rid of. We fully agree with the idea of saving money
and love making the planet a little greener so using something for a nonstandard
purpose to prevent it from going to a landfill is a wonderful plan. But what
kind of creative storage options for shoes are there?
Old bookcases are a great option, you can see which shoes you have and tall ones
will hold a lot. Have an old locker? That's great for holding shoes which aren't
attractive or are a bit on the dirty side. For a mud room put your shoes on
a large tray to keep any mud and water from running all over the floor. Big
pots are also an option for shoes in an entry or mud room.
Put a few pegs in the wall on a workshop pegboard and hang one shoe from
each on. Or tie the laces together and loop it over the peg to hang one pair
per peg if you have a lot of shoes and less space for hanging.
Wicker baskets (or any basket for that matter) make great shoe storage,
also for socks, shoelaces, and any shoe accessories.
More traditional ideas of plastic boxes, reusing shoe boxes, shoe racks
and overdoor shoe holders are also good options. |
